Covid 19 – Update
6th August 2020
Members may be aware of the latest news of incidents affecting golf clubs and hospitality venues in Aberdeen and the re-imposed lockdown in Aberdeen. Clubs in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire are awaiting news as to whether they need to close their clubhouses and/or their courses.
This highlights the obligation and requirement all of us have to ensure we do everything within our control to prevent the virus taking off again.
Today we are welcoming our first visitors to Luffness since the lockdown and you should be aware we are issuing specific instructions to all visitors in advance of them coming, making them aware of all the Clubs rule and stressing the importance of abiding by all the guidelines, specifically to stay away if anyone in the group has any symptoms or has tested positive.
Given all of the above, this is an opportune time to remind all members to remain vigilant with regard to the virus. Please follow guidelines in general and specifically with regard to the Club:-
- Stay away from the Club if you or your immediate family have any symptoms or have tested positive.
- Inform the Club if you have been at the Club recently and have any symptoms or have tested positive or have been in the company of anyone who has tested positive.
- Continue to abide by the social distancing, hand cleanliness and operational procedures when at the Club and follow the direction of staff at all times.
We cannot afford to be complacent with regard to any of the above as any connection that links the Club to the virus could result in the clubhouse and possibly the course being shutdown again. The Board have endeavoured to take an approach which allows access and social engagement within certain parameters but the overriding objective is to mitigate the risk of the virus being spread. Please assist everyone at the Club as we manage our way through these uncharted waters.
